Three ways to get a Taobao order to Singapore
| How it works | Good for | |
|---|---|---|
| Taobao direct shipping | The seller ships and Taobao arranges the trip to Singapore. You pick it at checkout when the item offers it. | Single items from sellers that offer it |
| Taobao consolidation | Your orders go to Taobao's warehouse in China, are packed together and sent to Singapore. | Several small Taobao and Tmall orders |
| A forwarder (GoGoShip) | You use your own warehouse address in Guangzhou. Any seller on any Chinese platform can deliver there, and we ship it all to Singapore together. | Mixed platforms, bulky items, goods Taobao will not take, one GST rule for the whole shipment |
Taobao runs free-shipping offers for Singapore from time to time, so check the shipping options at checkout first. If your item and seller qualify, that is usually the cheapest way for a small order.
When a forwarder works better
- You buy on more than one platform. Taobao, Tmall, 1688, JD.com and Pinduoduo sellers can all deliver to the same Guangzhou address, so everything travels in one shipment.
- The item isn't eligible. Taobao's consolidation has its own list of goods it refuses, which has included food and cosmetics. We ship sealed packaged food as sensitive goods and most non-flammable cosmetics as super sensitive goods (see what you can ship).
- The seller only delivers inside China. Many small sellers, and almost all 1688 suppliers, ship within the mainland only.
- It is big or heavy. Furniture and bulky orders can go by sea, priced by volume (more below).
- You want one bill. You see the price before you pay, and GST is added to the same payment when it applies.
How to ship Taobao orders with GoGoShip
- Sign up free and open the Warehouse page to see your Guangzhou address.
- In Taobao, add it as a new mainland China delivery address. Copy it exactly as shown: the recipient name is GoGoShip (#your customer code), and the phone number is the warehouse phone on the page.
- Place your orders. When each seller ships, copy the tracking number from the order (查看物流 / View logistics).
- In GoGoShip, click Add Package for each tracking number and declare what is inside and what you paid. Please declare within 7 days of arrival.
- When your parcels have arrived and been weighed, select them, choose a shipping method and create one shipment. Pay, and we deliver to your door.
Delivery times count from the day your shipment leaves Guangzhou. Add the few days sellers take to deliver to the warehouse, and wait until all your parcels have arrived before you create the shipment.
What Taobao shipping costs with GoGoShip
Air and Sea Courier are charged per kilogram, rounded up to the next whole kg, with no minimum. You pay for the greater of the actual weight and the volumetric weight, (length × width × height in cm) ÷ 6000, so a light item in a big box is charged by its size. The price slip on this page shows current examples, and the shipping calculator prices your own parcel without an account.
| Method | Delivery time | How it is charged |
|---|---|---|
| Air | 5-7 working days | Per kg; sensitive and super sensitive goods cost more |
| Sea Courier | 18-22 working days | Per kg; each parcel under 30 kg, under 120 cm on its longest side and under 220 cm length + width + height |
| Sea LCL | 14-18 working days | By volume, from 0.4 CBM, for parcels Sea Courier cannot take |
Combining parcels usually lowers the cost per item: the first kilogram and the rounding up are paid once per shipment instead of once per parcel. Asking sellers to leave out shoe boxes and retail packaging lowers the volumetric weight.
GST on Taobao orders shipped with GoGoShip
- Air: no GST when the goods value of the shipment is S$400 or less. Above S$400, 9% GST on the goods value.
- Sea Courier and Sea LCL: 9% GST on the goods value, always.
- GST is added to your shipment payment, so there is nothing to pay on delivery.
- Combining parcels adds up their goods value, so a combined Air shipment can go over S$400.

Furniture and other big Taobao items
Taobao is popular in Singapore for furniture, but a sofa or shelf is far too big to fly cheaply. A parcel under 30 kg and under the Sea Courier size limits goes by Sea Courier, per kg. Anything bigger goes by Sea LCL, charged by volume from 0.4 CBM and delivered in 14-18 working days.
Ask the seller for the packed dimensions before you buy, and for a very large or long item, check with us first at [email protected] or on WhatsApp +65 8334 8518.
